… Yes, maybe a statement you know. Not so with us. Not so at B&W. Because as interns, we have the extraordinary opportunity to work on a really interesting project – a novel physiotherapy training system. Although we’ve both only been with B&W since the beginning of the year, we’ve experienced and learned so much in such a short time. B&W gives us a supportive working environment and, above all, the opportunity to drive real innovation.
My name is Lena, I am 24 years old and I am studying medical technology in Stuttgart. I became aware of B&W through the positive stories of my fellow students. During a break, we talked about internships and the positive working conditions at B&W were often mentioned – flat hierarchies, a family atmosphere and exciting research projects. That made me curious. But I was particularly impressed by the innovative projects.
My name is Kai, 22 years old, I am studying software engineering and I came to B&W in a different way: In March, my team presented a project at a university event and we won the 1st prize awarded by B&W. The combination of hardware and software in our projects at the university was a perfect fit for what B&W does. When I saw that they offered internships, I applied directly on site.
Training system with VR.
The training system we are working on is a state-of-the-art motorized rope hoist designed specifically for physiotherapy. Our goal is to improve the rehabilitation of patients, especially for those who suffer from chronic pain. The innovative technology makes it possible to precisely monitor and adjust the training status of patients, resulting in better therapy outcomes.

Our work on the training system is a really good example of how we create innovative systems that really work by combining hardware and software.
The trainer is also about cooperation and close cooperation with leading academic institutions such as the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University of Munich. These partnerships allow us to stay on the cutting edge of research and ensure that our solutions are science-based and highly effective. Working with experts from different fields enriches our project and takes us to a new level. We are currently in the final phase of the project and are preparing for a series of larger test events with the Technical University of Munich. The results of these tests will not only prove the effectiveness of the therapy system, but will also form the basis for a scientific paper documenting the results of our work.
It’s exciting to see our prototype take shape and soon be used in real-world tests.
Working with B&W allows us to accompany projects from the concept phase to implementation, which is an incredibly valuable experience.
