Success story with H&B

In product development, there are projects that require not only a high degree of technological expertise but also reliable cooperation between different areas. We are ideally positioned in our core areas, but we also benefit from the expertise of strong partners in certain fields. The partnership between B&W Engineering and H&B Electronic is just such a case, as we each benefit from the expertise of the other company and at the same time achieve faster project completion through targeted liaison between departments.
The exchange with H&B and mutual understanding form the basis for successful projects. In our collaboration with H&B, it quickly became clear that both companies have the same expectations of their projects. Namely, to develop high-quality, high-performance products for our customers and to establish them on the market. In addition to the technical implementation, the focus is also on optimising the entire development process. Challenges such as working with a battery cell at its technical limits required us to work together with particular precision. The central question was: How can maximum performance be achieved without jeopardising the safety and service life of the system? The solution was found through close interdisciplinary dialogue between H&B and ourselves. By using interdisciplinary task forces, we were able to carry out targeted analyses, develop innovative solutions and thus achieve an optimum balance between performance, safety and efficiency.
The partnership is also evident in other specific projects. One example is the qualification of a connector interface for H&B, a service to ensure mechanical robustness and electrical reliability. Plug connections must be able to withstand high loads and at the same time offer an exact balance between contact force and user-friendliness. The feel is crucial here. Our measurement methods made it possible to identify optimisation potential early on in the development process and incorporate it into the production process. Another project is the development of eLavage, an innovative irrigation system for the medical sector. In medical technology, safety, performance and innovation are the key to high-quality and future-proof products. While H&B contributed its extensive experience in the development and production of electromechanical assemblies and contacting technology and plastic injection moulding, we ensured a well thought-out system design that took the entire use case into account. Once again, close coordination between the electronics, mechanics and software departments safeguarded the process and ensured the smooth functionality of the product. It is the shared vision of developing new processes, exchanging experience and expertise, and participating in each other’s work in order to work economically and efficiently.
